Obituary for William John MacNiven
William John MacNiven, Jr., age 77 of Belmar, passed away Friday September 11, 2015 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Chester, PA, he had resided in Belmar for the past 18 years and previously in both Milltown and South River. Before his retirement, Bill worked for Raritan Valley Sheet Metal in Perth Amboy for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hacking his way through a few rounds of golf.
Bill is predeceased by his parents William John, Sr. & Helen (nee) O’Neil, his sister Dorothy Anastasia and his brother Brian. Surviving are his children and their spouses Tara & Chris Lavelee of Keyport, Billy & Jenn of Shortsville, NY, Kathleen & Geoffrey Wolff of Lancaster, SC, and Kevin & Jaime of Hillsborough; his 7 beloved grandchildren Shawn & Mark, Maggie, Mariana & Kealey, and Brody & Madison; his brother Robert of Hightstown and Brother-in-law Frank Anastasia of Maryland.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 5pm at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue South River. Calling hours at the funeral home are scheduled for Tuesday from 2pm-6pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org. Letters of condolence to the family, directions and completed directions may be found at www.maliszewskifuneralhome.com.
