William J. Morrissey Jr., age 70 of South Amboy, passed away Thursday March 26, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he had lived in South Amboy for the past 3 years, and prior to that, had resided in Old Bridge for many years. Before his retirement, William worked as a salesman and draftsman for Metals USA in Newark for twenty years. Bill also worked for Partners in Cranford for 5 years. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Agnes and by his sister Eileen.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Maureen nee O’Brien Morrissey, his sons Jeffrey of NY, Brian of GA, his step-children Edward & Lisa Riedinger of Fords, Michael & Katie Riedinger of GA, John Riedinger of FL, his grandchildren Nichole and Andrew Lane, Edward, Olivia, Megan, Emily, his great-grandchildren Alexa, Jacob and Dominic, and his brother Robert and sister-in-law Phyllis of Gilboa NY.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 8:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with a 9am mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. Burial will follow at the NJ Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 5pm to 9pm.
