Manuel Lucas age 95 of South River passed away Saturday, February 21st 2015 at his home. Born in Gafanha da Boa Hora, Portugal he had resided in South River since 1970. Before his retirement he was employed by Quigley Company in Old Bridge for 9 years. Manuel was a communicant of Corpus Christi RC Church in South River.

He is predeceased by his parents Manuel and Ana Lucas. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, the former Palmira Pimentel, his children and their spouses Fernando and Julia Lucas, Maria and Manuel Labrego, Guilhermina and Alipio Fernandes, all of South River and Lidia Lucas and Mario of Sayreville, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 8:30am Wednesday from the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River with a 9am Mass at Corpus Christi RC Church in South River. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 5pm to 9pm.
