South River
Carol (nee) Dohn May age 75 of South River passed away Tuesday January 13, 2015 at her home with her loving family at her side. Born in New Brunswick to Jacob & Eva Trepesowsky Dohn she had resided in South River all of her life. Before her retirement in 2004 she was employed by the Borough of South River as Director of Office on Aging for 12 years and most recently appointed by the Mayor and Council as Liaison to the Office on Aging. She was a member and past president of South River VFW Post 1451 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Imperial Music Center, and served as Republican Committee Women in South River for many years. Carol was a communicant of Corpus Christi R. C. Church in South River where she was a former member of the Parish Council.

She is predeceased by her husband Joseph F. May on December 19, 2014, and her sister Judith Prusarczyk in 1987 and her brother John Dohn in 2000. Surviving are her children and their spouses Carla & Garry Clemente, of South River Joseph May and his fiancée Caren Caterina of Brick and Melissa & Eric Gartner of South River and her grandchildren Garry, Angela, Tony, Evan and Erin.

Funeral services will be held Friday 8:30am at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River followed by a 9am mass at Corpus Christi R. C. Church in South River with burial to follow at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in Carol’s memory be made to the Menlo Park Veterans Home Bingo Account C/O Iris Jean George, 154 Oak Pines Blvd., Pemberton, N.J. 08817.
