Obituary for Walter Sosulski

South River
Walter Sosulski, age 96 of South River, passed away Wednesday October 5, 2016 at his home, with his loving wife of 68 years by his side. Born in Poland, Walter lived in South River for the past 50 years. He was the owner and operator of Walter’s Auto Body on Raritan Street in Sayreville. He proudly served in the Polish Army during World War II and was a highly decorated war veteran. Walter was a member of the Polish Falcons, the Polish War Veterans, a Past President of the ZPA in Perth Amboy and the founder of the Polanka Picnic Grounds in South River. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, the former Halina Polikowski, his son Richard and his wife Deborah of Sayreville, his granddaughter Kristen Sosulski and her husband Steve Goss of Manhattan NY, his great-grandson Penn Goss, his brothers Peter of Sayreville, Joseph of East Brunswick, and his niece Krystna Lee.
Funeral services will be Saturday 8:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Ave. South River with a 9am funeral mass to follow at Saint Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will take place at St. Stan’s Cemetery on Pulaski Ave. in Sayreville.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 3pm to 7pm.
